Community gardening

Community gardening has a long history around the world, but in the last couple years it has a revival in urban areas. This type of gardening brings together people from various backgrounds and age to a local community. Creating a useful green surface close in their own neighborhood, participants become environmentally aware in other areas of their lives as well and will respect productive hard work of each other. Besides strengthening local community, community gardens provide fresh fruits and vegetables and spices to their owners. The aim of Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre contributes to the local spread of community gardening movement by creating pilot projects and by elaborating a guidebook. How can this project contribute to SC Budapest With the enhancement of community gardening movement, Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre not only contributes to the creation of a green urban environment, provides non-formal education through practice, thus creates a smart living environment.
