The Slow Movement is not organized and controlled by a single organization. A fundamental characteristic of the Slow Movement is that it is propounded, and its momentum maintained, by individuals who constitute the expanding global community of Slow. In Budapest we have Slow Budapest.
Slow Budapest aims to raise awareness about a slow lifestyle. The Slow philosophy is about seeking to do everything at the right speed, and about savoring the hours and minutes rather than just counting them. Doing everything as meaningfully as possible, instead of as fast as possible. It’s about quality over quantity in everything from work to food to parenting. Slow Budapest promotes the slow lifestyle through events and communication projects.
How can this project contribute to SC Budapest
It's a problem for many people that by overworking and overscheduling themselves they feel burned out and lose control. It affects our well-being, health and even our efficiency at work. Living fast and city life could be highly connected. The slogan of Slow Budapest is: 'Are we running to avoid missing important things or are we missing important things because we are running all the time?' Smart Living targets a balanced, happy, healthy and safe lifestyle, which is definitely close to the idea of the Slow Movement.
